Geospatial Data Processing Specialist

Company

Vansteelandt is a leading surveying agency with an innovative approach. In addition to classic surveying assignments, we have an air fleet of two aircraft with which we capture high-quality data via photogrammetry and LiDAR technology. We process this data into accurate end products, which we make available via our own web platform Plan3D. We are also strongly committed to data engineering to further analyze this data and turn it into valuable insights.

Job description

As a Data Processing Specialist, you participate in the entire workflow of air data and geospatial information.

Work experience

You don't need to be an expert in aerial photography or surveying — we'll be happy to teach you the tricks of the trade.

What will you be doing?

Processing aerial imagery into end products such as orthos and 3D models
Supporting the management of our geodata pipelines and automating processes
Collaborate with surveyors and project leaders to deliver data correctly and in a timely manner
Troubleshooting and improving existing workflows, datasets, and software tools
Data engineering: enriching and optimizing datasets so that they can be used for analysis and applications, with or without AI

Who are we looking for?

You have a technical background (IT, geography, geoinformatics, photogrammetry or similar)
You work accurately and have an eye for detail when processing data
You are eager to learn and are interested in geodata, aerial photography and automation
You have a master's degree in (industrial) engineering sciences, surveyment/geomatics, geography, geoinformatics or a related field. Candidates with a professional bachelor's degree and relevant experience are also eligible.
Pros (not a must, but strong advantages):
- Knowledge of Python (scripting & automation)
- Knowledge of GIS
- Experience with FME
- Basic CAD knowledge
- Experience with photogrammetry software (e.g. Metashape, Pix4D, Inpho,...)
- Experience with Photoshop/Capture One
- Experience with AI
